Loreto Convent School, Gibraltar is a co-educational independent junior school catering for over 450 boys and girls from nursery to 11 years, preparing them for the local comprehensive schools and for entrance examinations to schools in Britain. Loreto Convent is a Catholic School welcoming children of all faiths. “We recognise the uniqueness of each child. The aim of the school is to provide a Catholic education which seeks to foster the growth of the whole child. We firmly believe that the individual development of a child’s character is as important as the stimulation of their intellects. Excellent academic tradition and a wide choice of curriculum activities are supported by a talented, well qualified and experienced staff. Our size means that the school can offer the children a caring, family environment, which gives your child security as well as challenging them. The entire school community – teaching, administrative and household staff – is responsible for creating the special atmosphere of the school. We work to make the children aware of their self-worth and dignity as people and to develop their sense of responsibility in an atmosphere of trust, openness and Christian values.

Pupils and staff at Loreto, Gibraltar are proud to uphold the values of our foundress, Mary Ward – truth, freedom, justice, sincerity and joy – and of representing the Loreto ethos at the southern-most tip of Europe, from where we command views of Spain, the Straits and North Africa. Over the past fifteen years, the school has doubled in size, as our school focus on the individual has led to fulfillment of potential in academic, artistic and sporting spheres. Working with parents and the local community, our school retains a family atmosphere. It has been impossible to include everything in these pages, but we hope that we have gone someway to providing the information you require and conveying the happy learning environment which is Loreto, Gibraltar.
