The year 6 children were treated to a fabulous morning at little Bay with Lewis Stagnetto of The Nautilus Project this week. Lewis and his team had an early start in the sea collecting invertebrates for our pupils to observe and handle. From a large male octopus, an adolescent triton snail, a brittle star, spiny sea urchins, starfish, carnivorous and herbivore sea snails…all animals observed brought our science lessons to life. The expressions of wonder, joy and excitement on our pupils’ faces are evident in some of our photos. At the end of our time, we watched Lewis return all the invertebrates to their natural habitat and gave him a well-deserved round of applause for providing us with such an amazing morning!
