Loreto entered 3 teams into this years Netball Inter-School Tournament, more than any other school. Red Hawks entered into the Championship tournament (A competition) and Yellow and Blue Hawks entered into the Challenge tournament (B competition). All 3 teams played some very good netball throughout the tournament. Red Hawks and Yellow Hawks made it into their respective competitions finals and Blue Hawks finished in 3rd place in the Challenge tournament. In the finals, Red Hawks faced Bishop Green who they has previously lost to 6-5 and Yellow Hawks faced St Bernard’s who they had previously beaten 7-3. Yellow Hawks fought hard but were beaten 5-1 in their final to finish as Runners Up in the Challenge competition, however Red Hawks learnt from their previous mistakes and cruised to a comfortable 10-2 win in the final. Red Hawks produced some netball of the highest quality and wowed both spectators and umpires alike with their smart, fast paced and very skilful netball. In addition to this success, Gimena Bocanegra Hallin was named Best Player in the Championship competition and Ella Stewart Montegriffo Best Player in the Challenge Competition. It was an excellent day for all of Loreto’s Netball teams!
