Last week, we were delighted to welcome Mr Kishin Alwani and his family from the Alwani Foundation to Loreto for the official opening of our new science laboratory. This innovative project, generously funded by the Alwani Foundation, marks an exciting development for our school, and we were thrilled to share the finished facility with them.
It was especially lovely to see past pupils Naveen, Sherine, and Anjali return to their old school, where they fondly recalled their happy years at Loreto.
During the opening event in the new laboratory, Mr Peter Montegriffo spoke on behalf of the Alwani Foundation, while Naveen addressed the gathering on behalf of the Alwani family. Sir David Steel, Patron of Loreto, expressed the school’s sincere gratitude to the Foundation, and Monsignor Charlie Azzopardi, Bishop of Gibraltar, added his thanks and offered a blessing to those present.
Our Year 6 pupils, Mae and Vivienne, along with Science Prefect Leon, proudly demonstrated a range of experiments and spoke enthusiastically to our guests about their enjoyment of learning in the new space.
On behalf of the entire Loreto community, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Alwani Foundation for providing such an outstanding facility, which will inspire our students for years to come.
