This summer was the second year for our Loreto Summer Reading Challenge. With the long summer holiday ahead of them, the children were encouraged to read at least six age appropriate books and give a short comment on their favourite. We were delighted that the number of children who took part this year doubled from last year and saw children from Year 7 all the way down to Year 1 taking part.
The children who successfully completed the Reading Challenge were then invited to choose a brand new book from a selection of authors such as Anthony Horowitz, Michael Morpurgo, David Walliams, Jeff Kinney, Terry Deary, Anne Fine, Frank Cottrell Boyce and many others. A Reading Challenge certificate was also given to put inside their chosen book.
Congratulations to all those who successfully completed the challenge and we hope that many more will take up the challenge next year.
