Swimming Gala
Our Year’s 5, 6 and 7 children took part in our annual swimming gala. The standard of swimming was better than ever and children showcased their amazing swimming skills to all present. Four School Swimming records were broken on the day by the following children.
Isabella Lombard, Year 7 Girls 50m Breaststroke, 49.87s (previous record 50.75s); Conal McGrath, Year 5 Boys 25m Backstroke, 22.09s (previous record 22.64s); Lili Murphy, Year 6 Girls 25m Backstroke, 20.60s (previous record 21.28s) and Joel Hedley, Year 7 Boys Backstroke, 19.87s (previous record 20.42s).

After all the children’s individual races came the Inter House relays, where children were given further opportunities to gain points for their House. After all the races were completed, there were some last-minute calculations made and the final results ended in a joint 3rd place for St Catherine’s and St Philomena’s and a first ever joint 1st place for St Anne’s and St Joan’s. Lastly, the Year 7 Swimmer of the Year award was also a joint affair, with Joel Hedley and Louis Pitto both receiving the award in recognition of their fantastic swimming skills.

A big well done to all the children who attended, especially Prior Park who swan in our invitational relay, along with a big thank you to Mr Cabezutto and family for sponsoring the medals and trophies on the day. Also a big thank you to Miss Grech and miss McNally.
