Dear Parents
We look forward to welcoming your children back to school tomorrow and hope that you have all had a great summer holiday.
The school day will finish on time at 3.30 pm for Years 1 to 7. The school buses will leave school at this time and will therefore arrive at the frontier a little later depending upon the traffic. Please ensure that you are there to collect your child from the bus and that your child is supervised at all times in the vicinity of the airport.
All pupils who had school lunches last term will have lunches available for them tomorrow and there will be lunch for any pupil who wishes to have hot lunches rather than bringing in a packed lunch.
Here are a few reminders for the smooth running of day-to-day school life:
School Day
8.30 – bottom gate opens.
8.50 – bell rings & children enter school with their teachers.
9.00 – playground gate is locked and classes begin.Children are to arrive at school via the steps to the playground, not the front door.
3.30 – Years 1 – 7 leave school
Please follow the guidance of duty teachers and police officers at collection. We all have the best interests of your children in mind.
Transport Arrangements
Please ensure that a NOTE is sent in to their teacher if their normal arrangements change.
Address & Contact details
Ensure your child’s name and class name (eg. ‘Y3M’) is given in all correspondence. Please keep the office informed of any changes of address or contact details. The school email is admin@loreto.gi
Absence from School
Please email admin@loreto.gi if your child is absent from school and ensure you give the child’s class as well as name. Please avoid taking your child out of school during term time. It is important that children miss as few school days as possible.
Medicine
Must be labelled and given to the class teacher with written instructions.
Uniform
Please ensure that all items of uniform and other belongings are clearly labelled – particularly School jackets, jumpers, cardigans, tracksuit tops and lunch boxes. School jackets are a compulsory part of the school uniform and are available from the school office at £20 each. We remind you that the school jumper is mid-grey, and has the Loreto logo on the left chest, and red stripes at the wrists and bottom ribbing. No other type of jumper or sweatshirt may be worn. School sweatshirts are to be used for P.E. only.
Fruity Friday
Please send fruit for break on Fridays.
Birthdays
Please send in cupcakes or individual cakes/biscuits (easier to share out than a large cake and less messy!)
Packed Lunches
Please note that there are no facilities for heating food.
Trolley-Bags
Please ensure that your child uses a shoulder satchel and not a trolley-bag, as these can be dangerous, especially when children are going up or down steps.
Thank you for your co-operation and we look forward to another happy and productive academic year.
Kind regards
Louise Napoli
