Information regarding our arrival, daily updates and departure will appear below. **As stated there is only one WiFi access zone and we will place updates here when possible.
The children have all met at the airport and are now in the departures lounge, relaxing and playing games. Fight estimated to leave at 8.40.
With everyone boarded the children head off to start their adventure. We will post here to let you know about their safe arrival at PGL.
At 11.25 the children landed safely at their UK airport and boarded the coach at 12.20 for the onwards trip to PGL.
At 01.47 every one has arrived safe and sound with luggage to their rooms and are now fast asleep in their beds.
An early morning start today, with excited children meeting outside our cabins we met our PGL representative and were taken for breakfast. Spilt into our four activity groups we proceeded to our first activity for the morning, Raft builing so time to get wet!!
After our lunch we then proceeded outside to play a few group games followed by our afternoon activities. These consisted of Giant Swing, Tunnel Trail, Archery and Challenge Course.
After a fun afternoon of awesome activities the children headed for their evening meal. A quick turnaround after eating as it was then time to board the coach and visit a local village for evening Mass.
Everyone is now in their rooms, ready for lights out and a good nights sleep.
Everyone at PGL has awoken safe and sound and have started their daily routine. With breakfast being an early affair, it was time to head back to the cabins to tidy rooms and then set off for the morning activity, Canoeing.
With some dry sunny conditions it was down the river in our canoes if only the children knew about Hawaii Five 0!!
The afternoon activites were in full swing after lunch. There is varied and good selection of food, including unlimited salad and cold pasta. The afternoon is one of blue sky and fluffy clouds.
After the activities there was a brief opportunity to relax outside the cabins before our evening meal.
It is off for our evening activity which is PGL sports. By the way all the children passed the room inspection, just incase they have messy bedrooms at home!!
Breakfast was again a wide selection of English cooked breakfast, toast, cereals, fruit and yoghurts. With a slightly grey skyline a day of showers is in the forecast is was time to head off for the first activity. The morning activity was Kayaking, on one of the three lakes within the PGL site the children boarded their Kayaks, whether it was the lake water or rain water they were sure to have a wet activity.
After our lunch we split back into our 4 groups to participate in two of the following activities; Problem solving, Abseiling, Fencing and Orienteering. With rain showers forecast for the afternoon, spirits are high and everyone has had a great day so far. Clothes from this morning’s activity are now in the drying room.
We are soon to head off for our evening meal which is at 18.10. After this we have our evening activity which is ‘Snapshot’.
07:30 – The children have just been woken up ready for a late sitting at breakfast. The morning activities for today are High Ropes, Low Level Ropes, Problem Solving and Fencing. Last night the children completed tasks using tablet computers creating images and video which were they marked by the PGL representative, everyone had a great time.
This morning the children have awoken full of high spirits, breakfast is calling! The weather is improving from a mixture of sunny periods, showers and wind, the children are experiencing the good old UK weather! The sun is currently shining this morning as we have a picture taken on the bank outside our cabins.
The activities for this morning are Climbing, Rifle Shooting, Jacob’s Ladder and Sensory Trail.
Lunchtime and a selection of baguettes, wraps fillings, salad and potato wedges were a hit with the children. With a nice day, for the UK! it was time to proceed to the afternoon activities, these included Aeroball, Survivor, Trapeze and Orienteering. With a lot of fuel burnt today, the children were soon back in the dining hall for the evening meal. This evening the children have had a camp fire where they were able to toast marshmallows, let them cool and then eat them. They were also singing along to many different traditional campfire songs.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY’S were a surprise this morning for two of our pupils! What a thoughtful and lovely way for everyone to celebrate their last day at PGL.
Without the cake being eaten for breakfast, it was off for the penultimate time for our morning breakfast. With most children opting for the full English or toast with preservatives it was time to load up with energy before the last action packed day commenced. The days activities working on the normal carousel basis are; Aeroball, Survivor, Trapeze, Sensory Trail Rifle Shooting, Archery Climbing and Orienteering. Today making sure that all the children have experienced all the activities, giving them a wealth of skills and opportunities.
This evening’s activity is the end of week disco. The children will have an early dinner and then it is time to shower, get changed ready to bust some moves on the dance floor. Even the staff might get up for YMCA!
After some high energetic dancing, even a mix of Spanish influenced music for the children. There is now time for the children to pack their own suitcase ready for tomorrows departure from PGL.
After breakfast the children left their accommodation extremely tidy and have made their way to the coach. They have departed with a few tears from the children and the PGL rep was sad to see them go as they have been so polite and the best group of the season so far! The children are now on the way to the airport beginning their journey home to their families and friends.
The children have arrived at the airport, passed through security and are now safely in the departures lounge. We are waiting for the flight information to proceed to the gate.
