Some of our Year 6 pupils were selected to attend Parliament on June 3rd.
During their visit, they learnt about the fascinating history of the building and explored how Parliament works: including the different stages a bill must pass before becoming law.
The topic up for debate:
“”
Pupils took part in a formal vote, ‘those in favour’ or ‘those against’ and engaged in discussion.
They also had the unique opportunity to meet Madam Speaker, Minister Cortes, and Mr Sacarello, addressing them directly with questions at the end of the session.
This was a fantastic opportunity to engage in civic discourse, build public speaking confidence, and strengthen critical thinking skills.
Perhaps we have a future leader amongst us!
